Sinclair Road: assuaging student housing concerns
Quatro organised a public consultation for HIVE student residences’ proposals to bring student housing to a residential area of Hammersmith & Fulham.
The plans include the demolition of an existing mixed-use building and construction of 164 student accommodation units, including bicycle storage and a communal courtyard.
Local residents were initially hesitant to welcome students to the local area, though local businesses were very supportive of the plans. Through a coordinated and transparent approach, and a series of one-to-one meetings with neighbours closest to the site, concerns were brought into the open and discussed. Elements of the building’s design were tailored to meet neighbours’ feedback.
