Potato Wharf: public consultation in Manchester

Quatro Potato Wharf ImageQuatro organised a highly successful public consultation programme on the second phase of regeneration proposals in Manchester’s hottest waterside location, Castlefield.

Exciting plans to expand the site with further residential accommodation and a range of community facilities, which are otherwise lacking in Manchester’s city centre, were taken to public consultation.

The consultation programme involved an extensive range of events and means through which local residents and businesses could make their views known, including an exhibition and stakeholder workshops at the Museum of Science and Industry, newsletters and via online means.

As a result of comments received, the masterplan has been refined and the application was submitted for 11 residential buildings, public open space, a hotel, retail units and commercial areas.

A planning application was submitted in September 2008 and Quatro’s Statement of Community Consultation formed part of the planning application documentation.
