Emirates Stadium: new home for Arsenal

Quatro Arsenal ImageQuatro was engaged to create the right community and political environment for Arsenal's planning application for a new stadium, the largest urban regeneration project seen in the borough.

A consortium of 16 local residents' and environmental groups had set up to oppose the new stadium, and an environment of highly sceptical local, regional and national politicians and press - made this a highly emotive and controversial issue.

Quatro designed and delivered a comprehensive public consultation programme – which, even those against the plans, acknowledged was well organised and inclusive. Local resident support for the new stadium was recorded at over 70% on a number of occasions.

Islington Councillors voted 34-7 in favour of Arsenal's plans. There was no public inquiry and the new Emirates Stadium was completed on time and on budget and hosted its first game in August 2006.
